Evergreen

Evergreen is our Alternative provision based at Little Muddy Me which is an ‘Outstanding’ entirely outdoor pre-school set on the edge of Bray Lake within a beautiful half acre woodland.

The children who attend our outdoor provision benefit from a multi peer approach when integrating with the preschool at points throughout the day, as well as some focused/targeted sessions. Children are free to choose from a range of planned and child-led/self-directed activities. Our remit is on​ emotional literacy, developing risk awareness, physical development, executive functioning skills, promoting emotional wellbeing and self-esteem.

Our focus is firmly on exploring the benefits of being outdoors and working alongside children using their own interests. We’re not a school; we’re an alternative provision. We do not strictly follow the National Curriculum, as this is not a requirement, although we work to support the child’s individual targets using a cross curricular approach. We aim to increase cultural capital through a variety of holistic enrichment experiences, trips and hands on learning. We also have a farm which is available for our use so we can enjoy going there and spending time with the animals and growing vegetables at points throughout the term.

We aim to work with teachers at their school to transition the children back into the classroom and continue their learning equipped with tools and strategies to move forward.
